Take Action Now: January 2017
During the summer of 2014, we witnessed the Jewish people come together in an amazing way during Operation Protective Edge; Israel's war against Hamas in Gaza. Jews from all over the world banded together to support Israel emotionally, physically and financially.
We at Beth Jacob did our share as well. As an institution, we, Beth Jacob Congregation, contributed to the Jewish Federation's "Reach Out for Israel" campaign, specifically benefiting Israeli residents in the south. Collectively, individuals contributed to our initial campaign to raise $18,000.00 to help Israeli soldiers in a very direct way. My main goal was to raise the money, but more importantly, to have one hundred percent participation from the members of our Shul/community. Baruch Hashem, we surpassed our goal and raised $27,000.00.
We are now facing a new wave of terror that has affected the physical and psychological lives of our brethren in Eretz Yisrael. Besides intensifying our spiritual commitments we must do our part to help the physical needs as well. Therefore, we are embarking on an initial $18,000.00 campaign to benefit:
1. Koby Mandell Foundation - Sponsor child victims of terror to attend Camp Koby in Israel.
2. IDF soldiers with winter necessities and medical equipment.
Please make your tax deductible contribution to Beth Jacob Congregation. Through our acts of Tzedakah and displaying our Ahavas Yisrael may the Ribbono Shel Olam bring a speedy salvation to the Jewish people.
We should share Bsuros Tovos for Klal Yisrael,
Rabbi Avraham Bogopulsky
