Morning Groups:
Pre-school groups with Morah Faye in the Kinder Room (ages 0-pre k) This timeless pre-school program includes storytelling, songs, and a kid-dish (kiddush for kids). Please note: Morah Faye’s group starts at 9:30am

Kinder Congregation with Miss Lia, Miss Dena, and Miss Eve in the Social Hall (K, 1st, 2nd) A fun, interactive place for young daveners to learn specific parts of davening in order to prepare them for Junior Congregation. Kids will “graduate” up to Junior Congregation with a ceremony when they have achieved mastery over the parts of davening covered in this program. There will also be active games, snack, and basic parsha learning.

Junior Congregation with Jordan, Eliyahu, Tzvi, & Gideon in the Beit Midrash (2nd, 3rd, 4th) Once young daveners have mastered the basic parts of davening, it’s time to “move on up” to Junior Congregation where they will learn Tefillah Be’tzibbur - the unique parts of davening that take place with a minyan (eg. The Chazan’s Repetition, Kedusha, Torah Reading, etc.) and learn how to navigate the “regular” siddur with fun games like “Find the Word.” This group also features treats as well as story time and games with Rabbi Simon.

Training Wheels with Rabbi Simon in the Library (5th graders - Bar Mitzvah) As our young members grow, it’s time to start getting them ready for the “big leagues” by introducing them to davening in the Main Sanctuary and some more in-depth learning about the meaning and purpose of davening. This group features a conversational learning environment, trivia games, and forrays into the Main Sanctuary to participate in the davening there. Participants can earn rewards for participating in the main service.

Afternoon Groups:
40 minutes of active games starting 1 hour before mincha.
4th grade and older meet at “the forest” inside the main entry gate.
3rd grade and younger meet in the park. Although the park is open to all members, we ask that those not participating in groups minimize park use during this time to allow groups to run smoothly.

Story and Snack for all ages in the Beit Midrash
20 minutes before mincha

The Beth Jacob Youth Department is led by the talented Yisroel and Malka Weiser.
